Member Initiatives

“Alone, we can do so little; together, we can do so much” (Helen Keller) is indeed our motto at the Terrasses Francesca.

These words clearly express the views and aspirations of the residents. There is a sense of belonging – a depth of knowledge and shared experiences amongst our little community. Several of our monthly events help to promote this sense of belonging and inclusiveness among residence.

The Terrasses Francesca’s residents also believe in the development and sustainability of Vanier/Overbrook communities through a variety of programs as described in this page.

We look forward to working more on local community projects and with local community groups in the future.

Our Current Community Activities

The following activities are organized by residents for residents creating the “sense of community”

Ladies Who Lunch

A monthly gathering of ladies at the The Bridges Public House Restaurant hosted by our resident Linda B. is a highlight for all. “No Men Allowed”.

Men Who Lunch

The men also enjoy a monthly breakfast/lunch at Perkins Restaurant. Their host John C. sees to the organisation of the event.

Evening Out

The members (men and women) enjoy an evening meal at a local restaurant - State & Main. More information will be made available each month. Once again organised by our host resident Linda B.

Beer, Wine & Liquor - Bottle and Can Drive

Date: Started in 2018 - Ongoing

Program Recipient: The 1425 Club

Managed by Wanda H. who recruits volunteers to collect, sort and deliver the items to the local Beer Store.

We always need new volunteers, so please contact Wanda and help us generate funds to host events for the Club Members.

Shoebox Project 2024

The 1425 Craft Club is participating in the “Shoebox Project” to produce gifts for homeless women. Shoebox donations must be delivered to the Party Room on Thursday, December 5th between 1:00 and 4:00 pm.

🎄Holiday Craft Sale 2023

Friday, November 24 from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm - Main Hall

Elizabeth V., a 1425 Club Member, has decided to share her love of craft making with you, and is inviting you to purchase one of these beautiful Holiday Crafts for family and/or friends while supporting a very good cause. 100% of the proceeds will go to the "Partage Vanier" Food Bank.
